Salvador Dali - Las Esculturas 1969 - 1976.
This Collection was modeled in wax at the artist's home in Port Lligat, Spain from 1969 to 1976 and acquired by his friend Isidro Clot.
(Faun, Man-Head-Hornes) circa 1973.
The iconographic power exercised by the legendary personage of Dionysus throughout the history of our civilisation, from antiquity to the present day, provided a constant stimulus to Dali's creative genius.
For this sculpture, Dali centred on the essential and modelled a faun-like head, a symbol of the most violent voluptuousness, fashioned as a flame which balances on the cu ris of its own hair.

Salvador Dali - Las Esculturas 1969 - 1976.
(Figure Faunesque, Homme-Tête-cornes) circa 1973.
