Ouvrage qui combine la traduction par le journaliste anglais Sir Roger L’Estrange en 1692 des Fables d’Aesop avec 50 dessins crées expressément par l’artiste Alexander Calder pour illustrer ce volume.
Il s’agit de la réédition intégrale de la première édition parue en 1931 et incluant de nouvelles notes de l’éditeur.
L’ouvrage présente 201 fables et 50 illustrations par Alexander Calder.
